Three Foods I Use to Forget Dairy

For me, food combining was where my journey to a cleaner diet started. I knew what the bad stuff for me was; S U G A R, dairy and gluten in order from the most evil to the least for me. So basically i went from including these things in my diet daily and haphazardly (working in kitchens and bakeries it was literally unavoidable) to only including one of these things at a time.

For instance, cupcakes were out of the picture, because they combined all three, but I could eat non dairy ice cream (Sugar only) and I eat cheese (Dairy only) and I’d have bread once in a while when it was available.

Shacking up with a celiac made it easy for me to say goodbye to the majority of bread, since, it’s not in the house I don’t see it. And the severity and immediate nature of my sugar reactions made it easier for me to take huge cuts out of my sugar intake. But dairy…

The Less Sweet Life – 3 Foods I Use Everyday to Shake Sugar

The road to a sugar free lifestyle is paved with setbacks, failures and obligatory birthday cakes, but it is 100% a road worth traveling. My journey to quit sugar started for me when I quit my job. A job that I loved by included too many cupcakes for breakfast and frosting taste tests.

In order for me to get to a place where I don’t consume any sugar, I need time and I need a lot of help. Kitchen Tips Found Along the Way – l

I firmly believe that this is a familiar moment for a lot of people who do cooking in bulk. Imagine this. You’ve been cooking for a while. Dishes are piled up next to your sink basin, and you’ve just placed some unspecified but well washed cut of meat down into some hot oil to sear.

Now. There are three instincts probably running through your brain right now. The first, is that you’ve just been handling meat, cleaning it, seasoning it and dropping it in the pan. You need to wash your hands.

The second, is that you desperately want to wiggle that pieces of meat around to see how its going. You want to get in there with your nosey little tongs and make sure it’s browning well. A truly counter intuitive impulse that would interrupt your browning.

Third, there is a screaming coming from behind your eyes about how washing those dishes is literally the last thing in this world you want to deal with right now. My scum bag brain can’t be the only one that insists, ‘Only cook. No clean.’.

Now. Lets fix all three of these problems with one new habit.
